This tale follows a pensive, young
immigrant through his leap from public school to university. Residing
in London, England, this character's journey evokes the contemplation
that his days of frivolousness are soon to be over and his descent into
responsibility is about to commence. During this careful evolution into
adulthood, taking place over summer vacation, he ponders daily encounters,
analyses these situations, and muses about the mysteries and ironies of
life. His opinions are developed relative to the limited experiences of
a new adult, ranging from the enigma of heavy petting to that of quantum
mechanics. As summer draws to a close, the story winds to an unexpected result. In fact, in this book's quaint imitation of life, many things are not as they appear. The narrator's adventures, both in mind and body, are often complimented by the presence of three close friends, each with very different personalities and outlooks on life. All four are characters in their own right, hobbling along life's comical journey. |
